I uninstalled everything, including Fallout 3, and re-installed everything from scratch.

If anything I would've thought the opposite since Fallout3 is away from the Program Files folder which is usually a problem. Do you have any mods in the folder Bethesda Softworks \ Fallout 3 \ fomm \ mods \ Try moving all the files out of that folder to a temporary location and see if the Package manager will start. In an attempt to uninstall a user-made mod from my Fallout 3 data folder using FOMM 0.9.12, the program (fomm) began crashing persistently, and ever since.

When FOMM tries to install its folders under my Fallout3 game folder, it bugs out whereas they are fine under the FalloutNV folder. Even the nfig is in a non-system folder so I have not the foggiest what is happening.īut there you have it.

I don't know why that makes a difference, no folders on my system are under UAC and at any rate I have full administrator rights. I try to log in and I repeatedly get the. Then realizing I should've been installing them through the Fallout Mod Manager, I installed it and begun to attempt to install them through there. It's hard for me to says exactly what it says as I have Win XP right now, but you should find it. So I've been attempting to install multiple mods, to be specific Casm, McM, Project Nevada, and other through the Mod Organizer. FOMM will replace any existing FOMM installation that is 0.13.0 or newer. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard. You can either reinstall or right click FOMM, choose 'Properties' then it should be a 'Always Run As Admin' option there. If you are upgrading from a version of FOMM that is older than 0.13.0: Download the executable installer. If that helps it's because you installed the game in Program Files folder. This time I was allowed, and I thought all was good, but after doing the same for FNV, I again had to recheck the "which game" selector to FO3 and bingo! the error again.
All looked good until after selecting the locations for those folders. Since I was getting errors with Fallout 3 I decided to try and install it and work with it first. That included any 'Install Info' or 'mods' folders that were generated and all FOMM registry entries. The fact that the error was being generated upon the 'Update required' dialog I posted about earlier, made me think that something wasn't being set in the program when FOMM tried to make changes to that location.Ĭompletely uninstalled FOMM and purged any reference from my disk or the registry to anything even remotely related to it. At least that is what I can put it down to. It appears to be a file/folder write permission error.
